James Rees

Originally from the Bahamas, James studied English and Microbiology and Cell Science at the University of Florida. He has worked as a researcher in the fields of virus vector entomology and aquatic toxicology. He will graduate from CalArts in 2010 with an MFA in Film and Video, having completed two 16mm films, HULA BABY and Tiswin. The films focus on motion and time, both circular and linear, and are intended to be accompanied by a musical performance. The viola has always been a passion, and he continues playing and writing. In 2007, James completed his first rock opera, The Fecal-Oral Route (based on the method of disease transmission,) and performed it at a few locations in North Florida.

Max Winston

"Father Time" puppet fabricator, Technical Assistance (Stop Motion)
Recent Student Academy Award nominee Max Winston, is a California native and graduate from the Experimental Animation program at Calarts. He has worked abroad on feature films in Prague, and in America. In 2007 he received both the Sesame Street Fellowship grant, and the Princess Grace Award for film. His current film, "I live in the Woods" was funded by the Princess Grace Foundation and received an honorable mention at Sundance 2009. He is currently directing a short for Sesame Street, while working in the stop-motion animation industry in LA, on various shows including Robot Chicken.

Chase Woolner

Lead Puppeteer

Chase Woolner has been puppeteering since the age of five when he started performing with Red Moon Puppet Theater in Chicago. Chase soon after joined the San Francisco Bay Area Puppet Guild, becoming its youngest member. In high school he founded one of the nations few high school puppetry clubs, which is still going strong today with 137 alumni. Chase is a member of the Puppeteers of America, UNIMA-USA and has been a participant at several of the Eugene O’Neill National Puppetry Conferences. Chase is currently pursuing his degree in puppetry at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts.)
